Meeting 9/14 1:30-2pm
2008 - Smithers, WV
Our Mission Team of 9 drove to the hills and rivers of Smithers, WV June 28 through July 5 with the Group Workcamps Foundation. There we met 400 youth from states across the nation and formed 64 work crews (6 people/crew). We worked on and completed 57 homes that needed our time, love, and care. It was an amazing experience and our youth had a wonderful time and weren't ready to come home at the end of the week! UUMC's Out of Love Youth Ministries teams up with the Group Workcamps Foundation every summer to help spread the love of Christ in our own cities and around the country. We travel by van to our destination and stay for a week in close quarters with hundreds of other youth from around the nation. While there, we repair homes for the needy, disabled, and less fortunate as well as spend time in worship and in fellowship with one another.
Come join us for our first Mission Meeting in the Sanctum after youth group on September 14th from 1:30 to 2 pm to see what it's all about!
